Bristol Group

The Bristol Group

The Bristol Area Group covers an area of some 40 miles radius of Bristol, including Bath and stretches from Stroud in the north to Taunton in the south and eastwards to Melksham.

The group was formed in 1992 and now includes about 25 members who between them have some ten garden tracks. Meetings take place on many summer Saturdays and occasional mid-weekdays at one or another of the tracks. Winter meetings are also held to keep interest alive and to discuss topics, give advice and show off models under construction.

Skills available within the group include boiler construction, radio control, resin moulding, coach and wagon building, scenic work, casting, circuitry, lathe work, and much besides. Boiler testing by accredited members and help with locomotive design ensures a very self-sufficient area group but one which nevertheless warmly welcomes new local members.

A quick phone call to Trefor Wheeler ( 0117 969 6603 ) or Martin Veasey ( 01225 460367 ) will provide members wishing to make contact with a full list of forthcoming get-togethers and an invitation to join this friendly group.
